Hello All,
My name is Avolow, I have been a custom saber builder since high school (that would be the class of 92) and had been active in the Denver Sci Fi con crowd until I married my wife back in 1999. I got back into cons again with my son who's first con was Star Wars Celebration 3. We are hoping to make it to Celebration 5 if they ever make with the final date and location in time for us to make reservations. In high school I was no stranger to the metal shop and wood shop, since I have collected a decent amount of shop tools myself, but am still trying to get my hands on a small hobby metal lathe.
About 20 years ago I was looking through photography magazines and found an ad from a guy that said he had a ton of Graflex parts he wanted to get rid of. when I contacted him he sent me about 100 extension flashes, a couple hundred glass eyes, and about 100 center clips, along with a few other odds and ends. This was in the late 80 mind you, no one was making replicas of these items at that time so all are original. Over the years I have sold some here and there on eBay when I needed money.
Well, on to the next thread, the Holy Grail of lightsaber prop parts, I'm looking for the WW1 British grenade used in Obi Wans ANH saber.
Have a great day all, Avolow.

A warm Welcome to MySciFiFan forums Avolow
Thank you for sharing with us a bit about your background. Glad that you've found this cozy place out here in this part of the Outer Rim Territories (with a strong Imperial presence courtesy of the 501st Malaysia-Brunei Outpost and 'foiled" by our sister group the Rebel Legion Malaysian Outpost) to connect with likeminded custom lightsaber builders like yourself. Apart from our resident lightsaber expert, Plo Strax-Avix, whom you have already touched base with we also have our "fugitive" Jedi Master, Yupa Anex
Also please also tell us a bit more about yourself in the other threads like POLL: Where are you located?, An Age Survey, A Job Survey
May The Force Be With You
