it's a computer game. or a very lame movie, depending on which one you're familiar with. i for one liked the game. i played a little of Wing Commander 2 : Vengence of The Kilrathi and Wing Commander 3 : Heart of The Tiger. probably one of the earliest space dogfights games around. was also one of the most popular one until X-Wing came out. (hehe). althought the idea of a feral warrior race of cats like the Kiltrahi almost sounds a little Klingon-ish, it proved to be an interesting place to be. pay attention to the taunts thrown while in dogfights. then came WC3, the ambitions interactive movie computer game. with famous stars like John Rhys Davis, Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell and Jason Bernard, it was hard to miss it. of course gameplay and graphics were good too. so, do you like Wing Commander ?

I think I enjoyed it more as a movie than a space sim. Known actors were actually used and brought real life to 2-D characters. Anyone recall the Star Wars joke?
Yes, the X-Wing series were better space sim. Did wish could join a multi-player game for it, a human player for each X-Wing in a squadron mission. Or even just free-for-all skirmish. Hmm... I guess space/flight sims have died over the RTS and first-person shoot'em ups.

and those were the days when upgrading meant your soundcard and not your graphic card.
i think Wing Commander 2 was one of the earliest games to include voice effects in their games.
