well, i don't know the banned things over there, but over here in carry-on bags, there's no knives, razors, etc. That's where you're confused, E-wing. Carry-on bags you bring with you into the flight cabin. Check-in bags goes into the cargo section of the plane, where no one from the cabin can have access to...
Over here no knifes or any other sharp object, including a fork, is allowed in the carry-on bag either...

Not implying that you haven't flown before, but just saying maybe you though I meant Locke carried the knifes onto the plane when I was pointing out he checked it into cargo...
There are differences in how we use certain words in different parts of the world, so miscommunication can easily occur.

Wouldn't it be ironic if it turns out that crate-full of knives didn't belong to Locke? Yes, he claimed that he checked it in himself, not that anyone can dispute him on that, especially if the true owner of that crate is him/her-self dead, or missing. A cop-out for sure on part of the scriptwriters, but who knows.... The cable channel here has been running Lost marathons (5 episodes back-to-back) on Saturdays, so I've been catching up on repeat viewing on some episodes (a whole world of difference between watching the show on your pc, and watching it on the tee-vee ;D ) Just got a few queries, points to ponder on... - What was the "secret" that Locke shared with Walt in "Tabula Rasa"? (I may be wrong on the episode) Did Locke share the fact that he was a paraplegic, or something more? His entire conversation with Walt regarding the origins of the backgammon game was.. cryptic?? to say the least..hint of things to come??
- What was the one favour that Kate wanted to ask from the Federal Marshal, seconds before the plane hit turbulence and the resulting loose luggage hitting him on the head? Tying in somehow to that little toy plane that Kate covets so much??
and the dialogue continues...

Not too sure exactly what transpired between Locke & Walt, but on the Kate issue she wanted the marshall to make sure the farmer who turned her in got the reward money...
The significance of Kate's little model plane is still a mystery. The fact that its kept in a safe deposit box in the bank, and Kate willing to initiate a bank hiest as a cover to get to it shows it is of great importance to someone, either in terms of sentimental value, or as a symbol for something of great importance or wealth (think of other seemingly insignificant stuff like half a bank note, which when presented to the right person and joined up with the other half grants you access to some secret treasure).
Kate has one of the 2 keys needed to open the bank deposit box, but not the signature to authorise opening it, implying she stole the key. When Kate finally got her hands on the little plane on the island she weeped, after telling jack it belonged to someone she loved, someone she killed...she had to kill the man she love to get it, and now its useless because she's stuck on an island she can't leave?

Still watching the Saturday marathons of "Lost" on AXN ... In "Numbers", when Hurley and Rousseau were talking, she mentioned that her expedition was drawn to the island via the mysterious transmission of the number series "4,8,15,16,23,42". She later divulges the fact that the transmission tower is located near the Black Rock (which we viewers will discover in later episodes is a slave-carrying ship/frigate). She changed the outgoing signal to the SOS transmission that Sayeed & Co. discovered in the pilot episode.. Which brings me to my query... we haven't seen the transmission tower yet, have we?? OoOoOoOoOh man...

Have you watched the episode in which the 'Black Rock' was shown? This slave-carrying ship/frigate, is it terrestrial or Extra Terrestrial in origin?

Oops..should've posted Spoiler Alerts in my post, huh? The nature of the Black Rock was revealed in "Exodus", the season-finale 3-parter. Rousseau took Jack & Co. to the Black Rock (for reasons I'll not mention here). We the viewers saw the ship the same time as Jack & co. From what I could see, it definitely looks like a terrestial slave ship (not Slave 1, unfortunately )It looks like your everyday slave ship/frigate, but then again, appearances can be deceiving, especially on this show
