The Japan Festival of Traditional & Contemporary Arts was held on July 28th, 2007 at Dewan Sri Pinang in Penang. It involved an exhibition and demonstration of traditional Japanese art such as the tea ceremony, origami, traditional toys, and ikebana. There was also a corner allocated to an exhibition of contemporary Japanese art - ANIME, MANGA and COSPLAY. This is where we came in ;D Below are some pics of the trooping event, which involved 8 costumers, together with 2 costumes which were specifically imported from Japan. The costumed contingent, from left: RRG, jap schoolgirl, nazgul, jap "princess", Anubis and Isis. Sitting, from left: samurai and "Imperial Crewman". Ms Abiru, the Japanese Consul of Cultural Affairs in Penang. Anubis, RRG, Nazgul and Samurai Princess, schoolgirl, a fan, "Imperial Crew" and Isis. Nazgul vs Samurai Forcepike against Morgul blade: RRG vs Nazgul With a young fan With a young-at-heart fan. Notice the Traveling Yoda in the hands of the "Imperial Crew". Well, these were some of the photos that were taken during the trooping session. Apparently, the visitors needed some persuading before they would come and take photos with us ;D

Apparently, the visitors needed some persuading before they would come and take photos with us ;D Hey RRG, Looks like a fun event, with exhabition of arts & stuff, its a good idea to involve Japanese as they are more open to cosplay. Dewan Sri Pinang as I remember it has a lot of space, its a good place for trooping. I agree that you may need to pursuade the visitors as Penang people especially the adults are quite shy.

Thank you for all the encouraging comments, Masters Allen and Jaden. I'm just back from my second trooping at Queensbay mall... The reason I've been quiet over here for some time... I'll post the new pics over here and Annwyn, when I get them. This trooping was to promote my upcoming play "Senang Beringin Sendirian Berhad" @ narazura27.blogspot.com, due to be presented next week. Nonetheless, I was not in costume this time! I would say that the costumers were excited about the event, and through their contact, I am expanding my influence into USM... I just need to weed out those who are willing enough not just to put on costumes, but also make them! ;D Milord, unfortunately, we didn't get videos of the event... should have foreseen it, though.
