He's not a blonde. He's not a Liverpudlian. But I didn't mind it. The movie, if you dont compare it to the comic books from whence it came, actually was more than decent.
Generally, I love it because:
1. Then n00b director did NOT go overboard with the special effects. When you see demons (or angel wings) they are onsceen not more than a couple of seconds. It actually lets your imagination take over and run away with it.
2. Hell was done tastefully... you can see a fleeting glance of souls being tortured beneath the burning ruins, but most action take place on the surface with the (I don't know their names) half-headed sentry demons. Nothing to visceral, and nothing too violent.
3. The supporting characters... very nicely made up.
4. Tilda Swinton's Gabriel and Peter Stormare's Satan... very well acted characters. I like the fact Satan's arrival had no bombastic or spectacular fiery special effects.
In short, I liked it. That's as much as I can say without giving out spoilers. Here's hoping they do a sequel.

Yah, I kinda liked the movie though wonder whether some might find it offensive. Heard there's another minute to the movie at end of the credits. Missed out

Nooo!!! What was it that you heard was after the end credits? I had to leave as soon as the end credits started. I also left before this scene was shown (2nd hand info): SPOILER ALERT (read below at your own risk) Constantine visits the grave of his 'apprentice' killed in the final encounter. After leaving the grave, a figure decents with angelic wings. The camera pans to close-up and reveals that the angel is his former apprentice. DVD anyone?

I just got home from seeing COnstantine, and I want to see it again, right now. It was AMAZING. I left the theatre with my jaw haning open. The one advantage I have here in Canada is that there is no cesorship with movies and such. I want it on DVD RIGHT NOW....I hope they fast foward this one to DVD ASAP. LOVED IT.

Worthy of a review? I've not read the comic books... which is better?

Worthy of a review? I've not read the comic books... which is better? Comic book and with any reasons... But the movie alone without reading the comic book works well even... still, the comic book version is so much better than what the movie portray...
