I got a US Forum friend who named his Daughter Mara Jade and she was mentioned in the SW Insider some time ago. So on forums, her dad is called Mara Jade Father while Mom Mara Jade Mother. But their 2nd child son name is kinda weird IMHO as it was suppose to be a continuation of the daughter's name and inspired by LOTR.
That Anakin-addicted Padawan of mine keep saying he want to name his Son "Lukman" so he can call him Luke.
For me, I already set that my first daugther will likely be called Galadriel or Elwing or Idril. If the first name used, hope she'll grow up to be Independent with a sense to explore the unknown and yet still have wisdom. If either of the last 2, hope she'll be Faithful and yet head-strong in facing challanges or hardship only to find great success/happiness after overcoming the challenge.
My first son will be named Mikael/Mika'il (Michael) or Israfil/Israafel (Raphael). These 2 names are seldom being used by Malay-Muslim Parents in this region and I kept being reminded by this Uztaz when he joked why no one named their Twin Sons Munkar & Nakeer to remind whoever meet the duo about the Muslim's fate once he/she get buried. ;D
The next one will be called after a SW Character but NOT Anakin (Without Kin ) or Padme (Too Buddhist) or Luke/Lukman (too common) or Leia/Leah (also too common) or Obi-Wan Kenobi or Mara Jade (wait she grow up to be an angry girl as Mara is the Malay and ?? word for Angry). Still thinking rite now and I might look toward the Prequel or EU mostly. A name with a good mean in Real Life too.
Hmmmm.....anyone got any idea where online you can find the list of meanings behind each SW name? I used to copy it from this Website called The Sith Temple but it was gone by AOTC Premiere I think.
Ya, call me traditional and a bit religious but to me a good name is as beautiful as a perfume. And I want it to be unique; not like my real name. At my usual workplace, Haldir even became my name just because last year someone else also have my name. Even my "Cosplay" Name is pretty common.
