I grew up playing with G.I. Joes. I had never really been into the comic, but through my knowledge of the cartoon and figures, I'd learned the differences in the universes of the toon and the comic. I really started getting inot Devil Due's rebith of the Joes and loved every page of it. Anyone else out there a Joe fan?

Use to watch the cartoon religiously when I was young; the old one when it's still not cheezy or lame before the GI Joe movie, and the movie. Hmmmm.....I think I got some of the old story books somewhere in my cupboard bought many eons ago from the Flea Market.  Never got the chance to own the toys as I am a girl so my parents and sis keep getting me Barbie Doll stuffs instead ( and only my Grandma gotten me Transformers when asked to, but it was very few and the SGD9.90 Bubble Pack ones  ) |

Yeah, the cartoon was cool when it actually fired bullets, with corresponding sound effects. Later on everyone had *groan* laser rifles which, for some reason, look like M-14 carbines. Which was weird, cause theoretically only Sci-Fi should have one and it was bulky as hell.
I have a couple of the comics, Cobra Island War saga, couple of issues of Special Mission, and #4 of the Order of Battle.

Okie, so now, who do we think is the coolest Joe? Cobra? "Other"? Lemme know what ya'll think? For me, I think I like, and I know how bad this sounds, but Sgt. Slaughter was always a fav of mine. I was a big wrasslin fan as a kid, and this was a REAL guy. And he was just too cool in the Joe Movie. Coba, gotta give it up to Destro, I mean, the man has a wikked voice, he makes weapons and he bones the Baroness. Other, has to be Zartan...the man just oozes BADASSNESS

Oh, without a doubt Snake Eyes. But that's obvious. I really liked Storm Shadow and Zartan. The comics actually had a great run and pretty good writers for awhile but got killed by too many Joe characters. They eventually did an issue where a whole bunch of Joes got killed coz reader feedback was saying that it was too unreal that no Joe ever got killed. The nail in the coffin was that they got killed by a nobody Cobra soldier who mowed them down in a pit with his M60. That pretty much signaled the end of the series. But there's a revival now I think, a new Joe series.
