Hehe... Haldie, you're not the only one. I actually downloaded the PDA version, so that I can read on my PDA while in the LRT...
My comments: 1. Agree that she should have done away with the 19 years thingy and just did a Simple eiplogue of what happened there after, i.e. a) What happened to George now that Fred is dead... What abt their joke shop? b) Hogwarts - since it's in taters and blown here, there, everywhere... what happened? c) The teachers... d) Luna (can you believe that I got a little interested in this character???), proly due to her weirdness... hahahahaa
And #2, can someone pls explain to me where/how the dickens did the Gryffindor sword appeared in Neville's hands? Griphook got hold of it whilst in Gringotts... so... Either I missed something, the PDA version didn't explain or...

I actually like the 19 years later epilogue. It goes to show all is well long after the events of Deathly Hallows. To find out the characters have been up to all those years, you can read JK Rowling's interview here: www.rutlandherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070731/NEWS04/707310311/1024/NEWS04As for the Sword of Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat acts as a "portal" for the sword to reappear whenever it is needed by a true Gryffindor. So by taking the sword out of the hat, Neville actually deprived Griphook of his prize. I suppose the goblin's like admiring the sword one minute and watching it disappear the next.

I do know... after reading the action packed 19 year epilogue, it feels kinda "lifeless", something like an after thought by her on trying to be different...
Ah well, his to his own then...

I do know... after reading the action packed 19 year epilogue, it feels kinda "lifeless", something like an after thought by her on trying to be different... Ah well, his to his own then... Perhaps she (JK Rowling) was setting up a canon, to ensure that no-one can come up with something that says Harry married Luna or Harry died when he met Voldemort's son (ha ha) or something funny, although I suspect it can be twisted, although that section did indicate the HP's life was uneventful after that. I like the character Hermoine but come to prefer Luna even more. I was wondering if Luna and Neville will get together but according to Rowling, they do not. I actually find Luna as intelligent as Hermione. So what's next? The adventures of Harry Potter's son or daughter? or prequel and look into the lives of HP's parents or Dumbledore? (ha ha, I would love that)

lhs1701: It doesn't really stop, coz even though it's 19 years after, somebody can still come along and stir up the pot and do 20years thereafter!!! Of course, either killing him off or ending with HP having a goooooood life, living to his grand old age of... God knows what, works too... Came across these answers to HP7 book, and some of them are pretty layman-ish, if you couldn't follow Dumbledore's answers... www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20044270_20044274_20048517,00.html At least I understand the King's Cross part now... especially the creature crying.

Hi guys, Just finish reading the book. I like the ending after 19 years which I think JK Rowling could leave it as it is or if she wants she could continue writing after that period. But after reading I am thinking what a simple and easy life, how nice all the wizarding community attended only 1 school(Hogwards) in their life no preliminary or higher education is needed, and after that they all can find work and settle down. A life that's too good to be true.
