i'd like to apologize to those i've offended with my male/female poll. i meant no harm and was curious on who here is male or female. i was told that publicly speaking about that isn't socialbly allowed in the malyasian-aisan area. i was not aware of that. again, i apologize.

Er, can't speak for the others but I wasn't offended. Those who did not want to answer chose not to answer. The taboo part is if your sexual preference is not straight rather than your actual gender. My 2 sen anyway.

I wager no harm done. Members in this forum are open-minded (fans of sci-fi and fantasy afterall!).

ickeekaze, i said "to those i've offened." but that's okay. i didn't mean to ask your sexual preferences, i was curious to see how many regular members are male or female. that's all i wanted to know. thing is, i'm an american, and knowing how some/most countries think americans are all stuck up, etc, not willing to see other things, learn about other counties. well, i am. i don't know every single taboo from malyasia, but i'm willing to learn if people here are willing to tell them to non-maylasian members. i know there's a few besides me here.

I think you misunderstoon both Haldir's post (and maybe mine as well) over at the male/female thread. We were not offended (well I know I am not, and I don't think Haldir is either). We were doing what you asked in this thread, that is to make known to you about the sexual taboos of Asia. The male/female thread you started is perfectly fine, don't worry about it, and no need to apologise
Just remember that even if someone's into cross-dressing, that person will most likely not admit it in a public forum, so no point even to ask ;D
But you were not asking, but having a bit of cheeky fun, which is perfectly ok.
I hope that clears the air
Oh, to make you feel better, check out THIS THREAD, which continues in THIS THREAD in another local forum and see what we can get up to amongst ourselves...but of course this usually only happen between people who know each other quite well, either through a forum or in real life...

Heehee, I didn't take offence either. Just putting up the point that being a little tomboy in my youth and lack of wearing skirts ( till now), I seems to be having majority costumes that are gowns or skirts nowadays, thus a direct give away of my sex.

I think it's just better for us to be simple minded in these kind of issues. Go back to the days of "purity" like only Gals wear gowns and dress and a guy hug & take care of another in the name of brotherhood ( like Frodo & Sam, Merry & Pippin). Ya, we are being corrupted by homosexualism, cross-dressing, yaoi, yuri, hentai etc etc but let us think straight first before resorting to thinking in these "modern" way.

well, i can't speak for the other non-maylasians, but i totally respect to the people who's homo, who cross-dresses, etc; all that's not "right" in the public's eye. it's what other people think about it. i call that, no offense to you guys, being closed-minded; not seeing it from their perspective. yeah, i totally respect the fact you don't openly talk about that stuff, but the next guy might not. see where i'm going with this?

It's not about being open-minded or not. It's like " I wear a Skirt so I must be a girl!" ;D For God sake, think clean can't we for once?
