Well hello and may I say that I wish I had found this community earlier. Anyway, all my life I've been interested in Sci-Fi and Technology and stuff. I remember as young as 7 or 8, after watching my first Star Wars movie ANH, I dreamt of lightsabers and faster than lightspeed spacecraft and a whole lot of other cool and utterly fantastic technology. Well, I thought that I was all alone in this cold dark world because no one in my entire school life was ever interested in these kinds of things. Being from a backwater (well relatively lar) "town" of Kepong, my peers were either talking about cars or their latest girlfriends or studies. Did I mention cars? Things all changed when I found another sci-fi fan when I stepped into Form6. Then, finally I had someone who knew what I was talking about and or just stare blankly at me when I ask why Luke had "Dark Side" powers. Hehe, like "Sathya, JK" I too am trying to complete my padawan training by building my first lightsaber. So far, things are not going that well since we can't find a lot of the parts we need and stuff Oh and thanks to SaberMaster for welcoming me to the community and hopefully I'll be able to get more help (?) from you guys... ;D Sayonara for now, and May The Force Be With You All!

Again, welcome Marcus, and it was nice to meet you earlier today.
It was commendable how you made an effort to meet up with me and the other members so soon after joining the forum. I wish you all the success in building your first lightsaber. DO not hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance.
Hope to meet up with you again before I go back next Monday

Congrats to you Marcus for making it to the right place here. You're not alone now for sure. I think I've met you too together with Sathya at MPH today. So you're contrsructing your own lightsabers now. Be patient on finding the parts that you need. They could be right in front of you. Use the force to see it through. I did my Vader's ANH saber from pvc pipes & connectors (80 %) & the rest are from materials that looks like the parts that you need. Just be creative. Our Sabermaster will guide you to the right path. Have a fun time!

Hehe.... Thanks again. Man, this is the absolute first time I get to meet people from forums in real life And the timing could not be more perfect Maybe it's just fate(?) Or is it The Force??? ;D Oh well, our project was meant to be completed on the premiere date itself so that we could bring our lightsabers to the premiere and be proud of it too But sadly, we didn't realize how difficult it would be to find parts like these in our area. So, now... we'll just be "normal civilians" at the premiere and not undercover Jedi/Sith Oh yeah, "VaderArjay" were you the guy in the Vader costume? I meant to ask you this question but forgot. Doesn't the breathing sound get annoying? I mean because in the movies we only hear it like for a few seconds at a time but when you don the costume you must hear it all the time. ;D So, doesn't it get bothersome after awhile? Oh and could you like post some insdtructions and possible places to get the parts you used for your Vader ANH saber? Because I'm planning to do one of those too (Darth Vader Rocks!!!)

Welcome Marcus!
Who's the Lizard?
Yes, Vaderarjay is Darth Vader at the recent appearances. Meet him again this weekend at various events in Midvalley, 1 Utama and USJ Summit.
For more lightsaber support, you can also contact Douglas and Mr. Engineer of StarTrek.com.my forums.
Good luck!
