whoa...that looks... weapons grade!!! Even w/o any force/energy bolt whatsoever it can be used as a weapon! (I wonder how's that gonna go down with custom's/airport security if decided to go to overseas conventions??!)

Regarding the "recruitment" of armoured troopers, is there any subsidy from myscififan (or elsewhere) for members who plan to get one? *wink wink* hehe... Wah lau eh... This is not gomen leh... Where can subsidy2 one... I'll tell you what lah CP - the only subsidy myscififan can give is the friendship, camaraderie and experience. Sometimes tools for the job. But thats about it... ;D one more thing you failed to mention: One of the costumers' benefits is free entry to SW screenings (like Starlight Cinema)! hehe (although, "only" RM15.00...but at least covers transportation costs hehe...) anyway, real fans do it for money, they don't...when they can turn up in their fave costume, their real reward it is...

BTW haven't received your PM reply yet.

BTW haven't received your PM reply yet. Well, not much to glimpse at me yet as I' haven't started on my/any SW costume yet! But seriously, how's this Starlight cinema working? 15 bucks (don't think will have any costume by then unless I use the jedi bathrobe-broomstick method!) to watch more than one movie that day? What if it rains (refunds/postponement at all)? How long these outdoor sessions last usually? I've just replied the PM to you (sorry, was a little busy end of last week)Thanks!

OK folks, here's my longer introduction which I didn't fill-in the first post (in order not to make introduction too long first):
How did I stumble upon MyScifiFan: - I was suddenly struck by the idea to more seriously consider setting up a SW costume which I had harboured for years but never really had the intent, means or resources to do so. So I thought "Wonder is there any Star Wars fan club in Malaysia?....hm" so I searched to good ol' web and hooray! I stumbled upon MyScifiFan club. Not seeming to be an exclusive Star Wars fan club, I discovered the pix of the excellent(if not world class) SW fan's costumes showing up at events and was totally impressed by it! This gathering gave encouragement/comfort and reduced the question of "What do I do/where do I go IF I get my whole costume, in this hot climate? Would I be walking alone or just stuck with it at home as for display only?". So now I'll be knowing I'll have a place/places to go or at least ppl to join if I finally get a full SW costume!(I read one of the US or EU clubs, can't remember, they have monthly club dinners dressed up in full SW gear! Maybe a suggestion to existing costumers....hehe.
Star Wars "career history" (As far as I remember) watched TESB (acording to mom up to 8 times) in Germany and ANH(TV) and ROTJ(cinema) back in KL. Had a collection of roughly 25 vintage actions figs and 5 mini-rigs as a teenie(completely sold off in the 80's): Mini-Rigs CAP-2, INT-4, MTV-7, MLC-3, Radar Laser Cannon, X-Wing Pilot, Rebel commando, Snowtrooper, Stormtrooper, Darth Vader, General Veers, TIE Pilot, Luke(Jedi Knight), AT-AT driver & commander, Rebel Hoth soldier & commander, General Madine, Death Star Commander, Cloud Car Pilot, Boba, Royal Guard, C-3PO, Bespin Security ... They were selling here in the 80's for between RM4.50 to 5.50 per figure (that time considered pricey!). Have grabbed and framed all four Pepsi Phantom Menace posters (Jar Jar Binks, Darth Maul, Anakin and ...forgot who! *hits hand on forhead* or was it just three? Beats me...)
Sci-Fi interests I mainly like to look at the possible (cool-looking) futuristic military technology (eg.starships, troops and equipment) and how it can help to propel man into advancement, exploration and protection. Movies/TV: Star Wars, Star Trek, Deep Space Nine etc., The Fith Element, "V", Starship troopers, Final Fantasy, Battlestar Galactica(original;haven't watched new ones yet... come July 2nd on AXN!), The Thirteenth Floor, The Langoliers, Lost in space(1998), Dark City, The Matrix, Terminator, Stargate(movie), Men in Black, Judge Dredd, Gattaca, The One, I Robot, A.I., The Forgotten, Seaquest, Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, Dune, Minority Report, Total Recall, Demolition man, Otherworld(1985) (To be watched: ROTS, Chronicles of Riddick, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) PC Games: Total Annihilation, Warzone 2100, Homeworld, Homeworld2 Hobbies: Warhammer 40K, Star Wars ships(3 3/4" scale), nice starship deckplans/stats(www.rpgnow.com),
Military/Police Movies/TV: First Option (S.D.U. with Michael Wong, one of my fave movie!), The New Police Story, Air Force One, The Bourne Identity, G.I.Jane, Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun, ...(too time consuming to list them all! haha) Hobbies: Local mags "Tempur" and "Perwajurit"(hope I didn't misspell), anything related to top anti-terrorist/crack police/military teams (around the world).
Humble Collections Star Wars:Dash Rendar's Outrunner (3 3/4"scale), Obi Wan's Jedi Starship(AOTC) (3 3/4"scale), (Droid Tri-fighter next on my list!) WH40K minis:80+ Blood Angels, 12 Tau Fire Warriors, 2 Devilfishes, 1 Falcon tank, 2 Vyper Jetbikes, 5(?) What if it rains (refunds/postponement at all)? How long these outdoor sessions last usually? According to what I recall, if it rains and event has to cancel a replacement ticket is usually issued for another screening. Check at the official Starlight Cinema website for confirmation. Screening normally starts at 8pm, so add 2hrs for ROTS should finish by 10.15pm. For twin-movie screening nights add 20 min break in between. In the case of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, 8pm to 7am next morning? Thanks for the looong Intro!

OK folks, here's my longer introduction which I didn't fill-in the first post (in order not to make introduction too long first):Star Wars "career history"
(As far as I remember) Watched ANH, TESB in Germany and ROTJ back in KL. I apparently watched an Episode (could be TESB) up to eight times in cinema when a small kid. So CP from your detailed and interesting introduction you have actually collected the Vintage STAR WARS action figures and mini rigs manufactured from 1978 to 1985. ;D That being the case, your active participation is therefore welcome in MySciFiFan's Vintage Star Wars Collectibles section, in these threads : 1) Roll Call for Vintage Star Wars Collectible fans2) What Vintage Star Wars items do you USED to have?
3) Last but not least take a look at the Vintage STAR WARS pieces that I have in my collection now at this thread : Sample Pics of my Vintage SW-TESB Collection
