Name: "CP" Age: Thirties Base: KL Star Wars "history": Watched first SW movie "ANH" followed by Ep. 5&6. According to my mom I went to watch "TESB" about eight times in the cinema...(maybe not considered a lot here...). Ever since, started significant collection of Action Figures(loved 'em!) and some smaller vehicles. I remember those days one figure went for only RM5.00-5.50!!! but due to the seduction of the dark side I inexplicably (well, not totally) sold me entire collection for below profit at my school flea market in 1980s! Until Ep.I have somewhat "hibernated" through SW time (the vehicles/ships were soooooo outdated) but with Ep.II and III, SW is finally back!! I've currently a collection of warhammer 40K minis which I've half-way painted (basic collection standard), . My main interest is anything interesting in the military Sci-Fi technology that looks cool... Current I'm toying with the idea to acquire (buy, beg or steal) a full Star Wars military armour/uniform (such as Clone/Storm/Scout/Rebel trooper, still surveying the market: www.starfortressproductions.com, www.costumehut.com/securestore/c168390.2.html, www.vegatransports.com.au/AustralianStarwars/Helmet.html) or perhaps DIY: www.studiocreations.com/howto/index.html. I hope to have fun online and hopefully one day (my dream) joining the "Costume contingent" and its intergalactic missions!

Welcome CP! He he he your initial is the same as my ex-boss'...feel so weird calling you that ;D
If I may make a suggestion on your choice of costume...go for the Clone Trooper or the new Shock Trooper. That way you can paint them and then roll in the mud and sand to get them 'battle worn'...they're real cool looking...If you get a Clone Trooper costume and paint it blue you can even dress up as the Clone Commander in the Animated Series...
I'm interested in getting a BARC trooper costume but I was told it'll be quite a while before we see one of those in the market.
Do show us some pics of the model you're working on...always interesting to see our members' handiwork.
Again, welcome, have fun and hope to meet you one day soon!

Greetings Clonetrooper! Welcome to the group! Personally, I think it's up to your preferences but I will like to see more Clonetrooper in SouthEast Asia. One is suppose to pop up this July but that is across the Causeway to most folks here ( I'm from Singapore by the way). For me, anything with Leg Piece is out of the question being a Female on the not-so-healthy-side. Hmmmm....more people in the wagon for BARC.

Hello all!
thanks for the warm welcome! And thanks a lot for Triplesaber providing information to an armour supplier ;D
Well yea, I'd like to see more armoured troopers too (from what I can see there aren't any at the moment in this area/region, eg.MY,SG, right?). Even if it doesn't include myself!
I'll have to consider the cost (min. RM2.3K) plus the potential(should I say notorious?!) customs la, import duty/tax etc. and the delay/waiting time to bring into this country.
Well, I think I'll wait and see when Triplesaber finally gets his armour (the 1st in Malaysia??) and then hear his experience while I'll continue doing research on ways to achieve those armour.
BTW, I've updated my profile a bit and (tried!) to add my custom picture (hope it'll work...). Haven't added my signature yet until I'll think of something "deep and profound"...hee...
Again thanks a lot for the warm and prompt response and welcome....really gives the feeling of being part of a "family"....!
BTW, just curious what is roughly the SW member/community strength here (at least in MY)?
Thanks!

I had mine shipped via US Global Express Mail. With tracking number and insurance, it cost me USD90.26 (actual amount on stamp, but my supplier charged me 115, prob for the shipping material and handling etc). They are connected with our EMS Poslaju, so we can use the Pos Malaysia website to keep track on the parcel once it has reached our shores. I even called their hotline number cause I was so anxious. Anyway, had no problems with customs, it was already stamped with a clearance label. FYI, my armor was shipped on 30th April, and arrived on the morning of 4th May. It seems the general rule is, if your item has landed in KLIA and reached Pos Malaysia, it has passed customs. If it has landed but haven't reached Pos Malaysia, then good luck... eheh

Hi Dplik,
congrats to your new (Storm I presume?)trooper armour!
Well, if ye had it on 4th may (assuming not much work needed to be done, more or less out of the box kinda thing), did you go for the Costume contingent outings (ie.on 22,23,24 May)? That's because I didn't notice any white trooper armour in the pix, just (in sequence of "coolness"): Darth, Royal Guard, Rebel trooper + Jedi's (sorry, not exactly sure which Jedi characters they're supposed to be, probably includes Obi Wan, Anakin and such...hm).
Wow, the Darth Vader and Royal Guard (correct name?) are really impressive and qualify for movie class!!!
(Maybe good idea for me to check out the other blogs on this site to catch up on the goings-on here before I ask obselete questions....hehe...)
On the other hand, to save myself some time (and in the process give you all opportunities to write more blog to earn more stars!), here's some questions from top of my head: - Is there any other distinct SW slogan besides "May the Force be with you"? - Still no info/replies on the approxmiate number of people in the SW community (at least in myscififan)? I just want to know how big's the community that I'm now (officially) part of....eheh... - Are there any other Storm/Clone/Scout/Shock troopers out there (or AT-ST drivers/commander, Imperial Security trooper, Imperial Gunner etc.)? Just curious 'cos I find those armour/costumes also reaaally cool...hehe - Any info on how many blogs earn the next star....just curious
That's all for now (aya, thinking of it, maybe I should split up my replies into smaller blogs to accumulate more posts and therefore more stars....aha....you can call it kiasu or maybe next time!)
Thanks all & hope to encourage/cultivate all the Troopers within you ("use the Force...")
