disappointed that lucas messed up the first star wars trilogy. Fazz, when you say this, I sincerely hope you mean the prequel trilogy! ;D

Fazz, when you say this, I sincerely hope you mean the prequel trilogy! ;D yup. the prequel trilogy. still i think he managed to put in quite a bit of "universe" into the trilogy. i believe he has set quite a foundation to do other star wars spin offs. btw - nice raiders of the lost ark pic! one of my favourite films surely.

Welcome aboard to MySciFiFan forums Fazz,
Trust that you will enjoy your online *stay* here with this HAPPENING Science Fiction and Fantasy Community, from the Malaysian Viewpoint @ International Standards. Yes our forums have attracted friends and visitors from the U.S.A, Finland, U.K. and even Canada. ;D
Yessir you have made the RIGHT Choice by Registering yourself with MySciFiFan forums after noticing our bunting at The Curve. Folks - thanks for the warm welcome. LOL... not many of us actually saw the OT huh? Anyway... feels a little special to be one of the OT's...
Oh GOOD, another forum member who have watched the Original STAR WARS Trilogy when it was first screened in the local Malaysian cinemas in the late 1970's and early 1980's.
As for me, I have watched STAR WARS : A NEW HOPE when it was first released in Cathay, Kuala Lumpur back in August 1978 and its re-release in September 1982.
Watched THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK on its first release back in 1 August 1981, also in Cathay, Kuala Lumpur. Bought some of the COOL Vintage STAR WARS figures that were on sale at the lobby. Suppose you got some of these yourself too?
As for the RETURN OF THE JEDI, watched it in Cathay, OUG back in 7 July 1983.
How about thefazz, where and when did you watch the Original STAR WARS Trilogy? thanks for the welcome... but why the rolleyes?? anyway, i first saw new hope at section 16 pj... then i saw empire at bukit mertajam (in boarding school) and jedi in penang. loved empire, but disappointed with the "cutesy" jedi. you could almost see lucas exploring merchandise opportunities. i wanted some of the cool star wars figurines... but my parents won't let me. boo hoo...

Anyway... feels a little special to be one of the OT's... you, being one of the VERY FEW Malaysians who comes foward and sharing that they have WATCHED the Original STAR WARS Trilogy in the cinemas Attracted the *rolleyes* = ATTENTION from yours truly here. ;D Interesting! Being a PJ folk myself, I wasn't aware that there is a cinema in Section 16. Thefazz, what was the NAME of this Section 16 Cinema back in the 1970's?You have my sympathies, there you go - the CORRECT emoticon for *BOO HOO* =

Hi & welcome, I have seen the OT too but in Penang. Glad to know another scifi fan who have seen the star wars movie in the 70s, I also like bladerunner & gundam those days. Used to collect gundam cartoon magazine but now I have disposed all of it. Am a great fan of Indiana Jones too. I agree that its not easy to interact with most people who are not sci fi fan. They will think you are nuts. Sometimes its's disapointed because you want to share some sci fi topics and no one seems to appreciate it as much as you do. You have come to the right place where you can say anything you like about sci fi and get a good feedback. Enjoy

Behind what is now the LDP toll plaza. Can't remember the name of the cinema. I sense using the Dark Side of the Force , that you could be referring to SENTOSA Cinema that was located in Section 17. This cinema was very popular in the 1970's until the mid 1990's. It was sadly burnt down to the ground in 1997 and a levelled piece of land in Section 17 is what remains of it today...
