lady in the Invisible Girl costume, let me personally apologise for our forum members' crude behaviour, and allow me to make amends by buying you a cup of coffee at Starbucks the next time I'm in S'pore. Just PM me your name and H/P number, and I'll contact you when I'm there.
Again, my sincere apologies...

OoOokay, bringing this thread kicking & screaming ;D back into discussing the FF movie, I saw a preview screening of the movie last nite, so here's my quick-fire & spoiler free review If the mods think that this is a better topic to be launched in a new thread, then by all means, make it so.. The Good:.. not because she really brought her character Susan Storm to life (she didn't) but because she's Jessica Alba ;D [/li][li] The banter between Johnny Storm & Ben Grimm [/li][li] The translation for the movie title itself..."Fantastik 4".. thank god, I was expecting "Empat Terhebat" or something equally ridiculous ;D [/li][li] Stan Lee's cameo.. gives me a smile every time he pops up in any of the Marvel movies [/li][/ul] The Bad:- The cheesy effects.. think Battlestar Galactica had wayy better effects. They must've blown all the $$ on creating Johnny Storm's "Flame On!" effects..and it shows, his flaming powers are easily the best fx scenes in the movie. And oh, The Thing's rocky suit looked believable on the big screen too, imho.
The Ugly:- Victor Von Doom's origins... *aarghhghgh!!*
[/li][li] The overly blatant product placements peppered throughout the movie.. oy! [/li][li] The battle royale at the end of the movie.. that's it?? *sheesh* [/li][/ul] Waiting till everyone has seen it, then we can discuss it proper (and hopefully move away from discussing the finer details of the Singaporean Invisible Woman) ;D

Do you have a copy of that god-awful-never-released movie, D.Revan? I've heard about it, read the reviews, seen some screen-caps, but I've never seen the movie in its entirety.

Why would I ever own, much less have a copy of that piece of blasphemy?? I'd sooner have my eyes gouged out with hot forks of displeasure. Once I laid eyes on the screenshots, I knew I should stay far, far away from the proximity of the movie. I didn't even bother to read the reviews. Heheh...

i just watched. and it may be hard to believe, but i like it a lot. considering the few recent blockbusters which were dark-themed like Reveng of the Sith, Batman Begins and War of The Worlds (all which were great too), FF just comes a breath of fresh air for something light-hearted, humourous and down right pure fun.
not being a big fan of FF comics, i managed to get into the story and believe most of the arguements they put forward (or altered from the original comics). come on, who do you make a superhero with a name like Mr Fantastic and streches like the Rubber Man into someone believable on screen ? I totally bought all the characters potrayed. well except Jessica Alba which didn't quite fit as Susan Storm the scientist. but i don't complain about her being in the movie.
fantastic fun

And didn't anyone else wonder how Ben Grimm @ The Thing managed to wear a belt?? That scene occured right after he smashed and broke into the Big Menswear Shop (name of the shop is probably wrong) to get the trenchcoat, the hat, the pants, the belt..he couldn't dial the numbers on the payphone, what more put on that belt?? Suspension of disbelief is one thing.. but this would've required a stupendous amount of logic-jumping ;D And D.Revan, I want copy of that "blasphemous" Corman flick in the same manner that I want a copy of "The Star Wars Holiday Special".. when something is that awesomely bad, it becomes very desirable indeed ;D

Saw the movie. Damn! They changed their origins totally including Dr. Doom.
There were suppose to be four of them, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben in a rocket and not a space centre when they were hit by the cosmic rays that gave them their powers.
Dr. Doom does not have super powers. He is only a scientist and a practitioner in the dark arts. That metal skin is suppose to be an armor that he wore.
Also, the unstable molecules suit was created by Reed Richards after obtaining their powers and not by Victor Von Doom.

Time to take everyone's attention on the ALTERED Story Line in the Fantastic Four movie and turn our attention on the babe of the day. She's NOT Jessica Alba a.k.a. Susan Storm, the Invisible Girl but the HOTTIE nurse who took Johnny Storm's temperature :
Maria Menounos
Maria all set to RAISE your temperature! Phwarrr! ;D
