I have some of those Covertec clips (brand new). If you need some, I can order it. How much can you get the Covertec clips for including shipping? I might beinterested in some if the price is right.Any idea where to get the cutting bit for a rotary tool locally?Oops. The Covertec supplier is currently not accepting any orders. Have to wait for a while. A standard Covertec holder plus clip is about USD10 not including shipping. As for the rotary bits, I got it from Jaya D.I.Y shop too.

That was the phono plug that came apart. Should never rely solely on the phono jack to keep the blade in place. Should always secure the blade with a flat haed screw or a thumb screw. I would prefer the thumb screw because it adds to the look of the saber...

I think you got the wrong impression. The blade was secured in a tube with 12 screws holding it. The story is that the phono plug came apart after plugging and unplugging the blade for 6-7 times. It can't take the stress Have to use the industrial type. Will show you an improved version when you come here next. I am also planning my next super bright version using the side emitter fibre optics!

Ah, I see...its not that the blade fell off but the phono jack got distroyed due to frequent plugging/unplugging...
Do you think you'll have time to fit one of my saber hilt with the necessary electronics to accept a blade?

Just let me know what electronics you want be it a lighted blade or running lights on the hilt or... and I will let you know the time schedule and the possibility of fitting in that electronics.

Everything you mentioned, and 3 LED near the bottom of the hilt running in sequence with a separate, concealed on/off switch...

Ok, let me get this straight.
You want :
1. Lighted blade - EL colour?
2. Polycarbonate or Acrylic blade? Polycarbonate will take time to shipped in. Almost two months!
3. 3 LEDs running in sequence along any position near the bottom of the hilt. Vertical or horizontal?
;D

Ok, let me get this straight.
You want :
1. Lighted blade - EL colour? Purple, of course ;D
2. Polycarbonate or Acrylic blade? Polycarbonate will take time to shipped in. Almost two months! Polycarbonate. As long as it gets here by October
3. 3 LEDs running in sequence along any position near the bottom of the hilt. Vertical or horizontal? Horizontally, as if they're circling the hilt...

Ok. The 3 LEDs at the bottom.
Is it going to be spaced equally apart like forming an angle of exactly 120 degrees apart?
Or, do you want 6 Leds at 60 degrees apart (6 LEDs looks nicer and I have the template for it.)

I was thinking of 3 LEDs at exactly 120 degrees apart, but now that you mentioned it, 6 LED would definitely look better...can you make them blink 2 at a time, with those at the opposite sides of the hilt lighting up together?
What I'd really like to do is make an organic design saber hilt with translucent, irregular shaped panels on them which light up in random while the saber is in standby mode. When the blade is activated the panels would 'pulse' in unison slowly...that'd be waaay cool...
