I don't think the woman's armour is the same as offered/sold by the chinese seller, 'cos in her description it's stated that it's made from ABS, whereby the Chinese armour is not (it's apparently PVC only). Besides, full set of ABS armour cannot be so cheap at US$200. I think all the suits (Stormie FX, Singaporean armour etc.) are all ABS (that;s why can get the shine/gloss and it's more durable/sturdy than PVC) that's why they're all ~RM2k and above. Other reasons/evidence suggesting that this is NOT armour bought from Chinese Seller:
- The woman's armour has seperate upper and lower body parts; The Chinese armour is one piece for upper/lower body;
- She mentioned it's bought from 501st member. Now, we strongly believe (but not 100% confirmed) that the 501st set high standards for trooper armour and that means, only ABS armour and such. Therefore the Chinese armour(most probably) would not pass as 501st "troopable" clonetrooper armour (I could be wrong, 'cos the Clonetrooper costume requirements have not been defined in 501st as yet, so as of now there's still a possibility of becoming a 501st member with the Chinese clonetrooper armour but don't put your hopes so high).
Cheers

The material that the armour is made of is less important than the look of the armour. The only reason that the Chinese armour may not be accepted is that it doesn't look accurate. Especially the helmet. BTW if you go to Clonetroopers.net you may be able to get more leads on different types of Clonetrooper armour. The cheapest ABS armour and helmet kit that I've seen costs US$450. Plus maybe US$90 for shipping

If your goal in getting the armor is to join the 501st, then accuracy is a must. Not necessarily 100% accuracy, but at least 85% is required. The China made armor is nowhere near 85%. I'd suggest saving your hard-earned cash and get something better instead of investing it now in something cheap that you will regret later.

WHAT I've posted earlier about maintaining HIGH STANDARDS for the local costuming community STANDS and STAYS. We shall STRIVE to maintain the STANDARDS through our own RESOURCEFULLNESS to be able match the standards of our counterparts in the US, Europe and even Singapore. This should be viewed as a achievement on our part.
clonetrooper take heed of what I've just posted.
