The Macross soul is ultimately music. That is proven true with every Macross incarnations. Every Macross series / OAVs / films has singing Idoru (aka Idol), either superstar Lynn Minmay (of SDF: Macross, Macross DYRL, Macross Flashback 2012) to enemy emulator Ishtar (Macross II: Lovers Again) to virtual idol Sharon Apple (Macross Plus) to mega successful Fire Bomber Band (Macross 7, Macross 7 Dynamite) & last but not least, the enigmatic Mayan priestess Sara Nome (Macross Zero).
Now, a new Macross series is in progress, featuring a new idoru, Renka Lee (Macross Frontiers).

SDF: Macross Minmay used her spellbound voice to render the culture-less Zentrans & Meltrans to embrace humanity & culture.
Robotech Minmay used her voice as a psychological assault against 4.8 million Zentraedi Armada that just bomb Earth to hell & let the allied 1 million 'contaminated' Zentraedi under Breetai & SDF-1 to take advantage & blasted Dolza's & his Grand Fleet to hell.
As for Ishtar, her part as Marduk emulator enhancing Marduk Zentran warriors instinct for combat, resulting in UN Spacy massacre. Later on, she use her voice betraying the Marduk cause & lead other Marduk faction to betray & annihilate megalomaniacal sadistic Marduk Emperor Ingues.

Well, hordes of Japanese Macross fans clearly LOVED the concept of piloting Valkyries using guitars & defeating space monsters with voice!
Irregardless what other may say, Macross 7 (in extent Basara & Fire Bomber) is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MACROSS FRANCHISE EVER!
Many Japanese & Hongkies kids growing in the 1990s listening to infectious Fire Bomber's J-Pop tunes ..
FAIYAAAA .... BOMBAAAAA!!!!

The topic of the thread reminded me of countless 'RT vs Gundam' topics being debated in RT.com Warzone forum.
In conclusion, RT wins hands down.
My most favorite tactic .... REF fleet folds in, blasted Gundam's Earth to hell with planet buster NS missiles, & proceeded with Shadow-Tech stealth Alpha-Beta Legioss carrying nukes (RMS Angel of Death) & bombard every Gundam oversized space colonies.
Not even Zeon or Federation of Gundam factions will know what hit 'em!

the only best and logical gundam series is the 8th ms team. no fancy weaponry or mega beams. and no nonsense about one unit defeating an army of zakus.
by the way, im slowly trying to figure out how to make a robotech cyclone armor costume. without the motorcycle of cos. just the helmet, chest plate, arm guards, waist and mecha feet. in other words, the soldier unit.

Agreed. I remember back in '98 (or was it '97?) that I fell in love with the 08th MS Team. Sure beats the other Gundam series/OVAs in terms of logic and flashy mechas. Couldn't understand what Gundam Seed was about, though. Too many Gundams

looks uncomfortable. im tying to make one thatis more agile. dats why its without the motorcycle. this guys design is totally based on the cartoon. mine is based on the model toy. wildcats.pupui.jp/images/mospeada_31.jpggive or take it may end up like that, but must take into account tis toy already has the armor on, and its not ur usual dress him up, so the accuracy and realism and thickness of the costume will run a bit.

This one's much easier to build... I foresee a problem with the leggings, though... ;D

if ur refferring to the heels, then its not a problem. cos there wont be any heels at all. besides its not really possible and bodily accurate to do so.
