It is hoped this forum will serve as a major platform in bringing together the science-fiction and fantasy community for fruitful discussions and forging of new friendships with those of similar interests.

After registration, please hop into the 'Introductions' board and introduce yourself to fellow forum members. Share a bit about yourself and your sci-fi and/or fantasy interests. Over the first month of the MySciFiFan forum coming online, there are now 54 registered users accounting for 227 topics and over 1450 posts!

To encourage member partiticpation, MySciFiFan is pleased to conduct its first FORUM CONTEST between 1st to 15th March 2005. The registered foru member with highest number of posts during this 15-day period will be awarded 4 passes to an exclusive cinema screening from a selection of movies. The forum member with the next highest number of posts will be awarded 2 cinema passes. These cinema screenings are generously sponsored by Cinema Online, Malaysia's most comprehensive cinema and movie resource at www.cinemaonline.com.my.

Don't know where to start? All new forum users are encourage to post their self-introductions in the 'Introductions' board:

The MySciFiFan has just been through its first month of operation. Over this short month, topic number of topics has expanded to over 150 with more than 1600 posts! Hello All!

Last weekend was a busy one for the sci-fi community with the Save Star Trek event on Friday 11 March and MySciFiFan’s Star Wars Fan Gathering on Sunday 13 March.

Star Wars fans made their way to Café 1920 in The Curve, spending an afternoon sharing their passions for the blockbuster sci-fi movie franchise. Fan films were screened together with deleted scenes from Episode IV: A New Hope. Presentations were also made on how to make a Jedi costume and lightsaber props, with even an appearance by two fully outfitted Jedi! Get the event run-down and photos on the forum:

Sci-Fi costume enthusiasts may wish to take special note on the formation of the MySciFiFan Star Wars Costume Contingent preparing to storm upcoming Episode III Revenge of the Sith events in FORCE. Eligibility to enter this elite fan costume contingent is an authentic Star Wars costume from any of the movies. No costume? Don’t know where to start? Experienced MySciFiFan costume fans are able to assist to develop your ideas into a working costume to join the ranks of our very own Darth Vader with an ensemble of Sith and Jedi. Act FAST though as EpIII events are incoming, the soonest one being the launch of ROTS toys on the midnight of April 1-2 at a number of retailers. This weeks community update highlights a couple of Star Wars related activities in run-up to the premiere of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith on 19 May 2005.

Last Friday night of 1st April (not a joke) saw a mass gathering of Star Wars fans in Force at special Fiesta events to celebrate the launch of EpIII toys and collectibles by Hasbro. About 200 people were estimated to have swamped the event at Ultimate Toys in 1 Utama, with smaller turnouts at Toys’R’Us Midvalley and Toy Quest 2 Bkt Bintang. A number of MySciFiFan members attended the Ultimate Toys event, bagging some prizes and winning goodies from the mini-auctions. MySciFiFan photos can be found at the Reconnaissance forum thread at:

Hello, hello!

We’re in mid-April, just slightly over a month before the release of Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith (ROTS).

MySciFiFan is looking to have a community group outing to watch ROTS and will be joining CinemaOnline’s special screening event on Sunday 22 May 2005, 10.30am at GSC Summit USJ. Star Wars fans are anticipated to turn out in Force at this event which will include pre-screening activities, prizes, exclusive collectibles and more. Full details and tickets will be available shortly from CinemaOnline at www.cinema.com.my. Get your tickets FAST as many fans have already been pre-booked and tickets remaining are expected to sell-out fast.
