Hello all!

Since last week’s announcement on MySciFiFan’s community outing to CinemaOnline’s Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith screening event on Sunday 22 May 2005, tickets have been snapped out fast and is now SOLD OUT! Yes, the Force is still strong with several large groups taking up many tickets en masse. Fortunately, MySciFiFan has secured 40 seats amongst the best locations within the cinema. On top of that the MySciFiFan Star Wars Costume Contingent will be attending this event in true FORCE! Here’s your chance to meet the local versions of Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, the Emperor’s Royal Guard, Rebel Fleet Trooper, and many more including some special surprises. If you intend to watch the movie in costume, this is the event to be so get your costumes ready and join the Contingent there!

The lucky members who have made seat bookings through MySciFiFan, please settle payment by Sunday 8 May 2005, failing which the tickets will be released to those members who have missed out. The ones who have missed out may join the waiting list by e-mailing [e-mail] your name, contact and number of tickets required (limit 2 per MySciFiFan member).

Greetings once again!

Please take note the CinemaOnline Fan Screening Event has been changed from Sunday 22 May to Monday 23 May (replacement public holiday for Wesak day on Sunday). Time and venue remain the same, i.e. 10.30am at GSC Summit (pre-screening activities prior).

There will still be a screening on 22 May for corporate purchasers but the Fan Activities (contests, promotions, etc.) will only be on Monday 23 May. As a fan community, MySciFiFan opts to participate in the Fan Screening Event on 23 May.

As a result of this new screening session, additional seats will be available for the new 23 May screening. However new ticket prices from CinemaOnline are RM28 including the Star Wars magazine and RM24 without magazine. For those who have already purchased tickets earlier, the original price of RM19.50/RM15.50 remain unchanged. However, all new tickets including those on waitlist will have to pay the new higher price.

If you missed out on the earlier SOLD OUT tickets, this is another limited chance to join in on this special fan screening event on 23 May. Write to MySciFiFan ticket coordinator, Richard, at [e-mail] by Sunday 8 May if you wish to book tickets (at new price) to attend together with the MySciFiFan community. When sufficient bookings are received, MySciFiFan will obtain tickets for another block of seats together with the confirmed group.

Star Wars Episode III Premieres just over a week from now, and demand for cinema screenings are certainly HOT. The CinemaOnline Fan Screening event on 23 May is now already SOLD OUT. Those lucky enough to have booked tickets through MySciFiFan can now collect their entry tickets as well as exclusive postcards and CinemaOnline Star Wars special issue from our coordinator, Richard. He will be available this weekend 14-15 May at MidValley Megamall from 1-6pm.

Star Wars Week is here! A few lucky MySciFiFan members already had the chance to watch Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith last night at RHB Bank’s Grand Premiere in GSC Midvalley. Those without Premiere tickets will be no doubt watching special advance screenings tonight or on the opening day 19 May tomorrow. Early feedback indicates this movie does not disappoint. The Force is with us!

The MySciFiFan Star Wars Costume Contingent has already been out and about since last weekend, making a number of appearances at Midvalley Megamall at RHB Bank and MPH as well as The Star. Last weekend’s Contingent turn-out was just a precursor to this coming weekend’s events. Catch the FULL Contingent at the Star Online Episode III Special Screening this Saturday 21 May, 10am at GSC Midvalley. Notable characters represented amongst the Contingent include Sith Lords Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Darth Sidious, escorted by his Royal Guard. Characters from the Light Side of The Force include Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, Jedi Plo-Strax Avix, and Agen Kolar together with a Rebel Fleet Trooper. Every true Star Wars fan should have watched Revenge of the Sith by now at least once, if not 3-5 times! Trust this final movie to close the Star Wars saga met and exceeded expectations leaving fan breathless…<br>

MySciFiFan Star Wars Costume Contingent made another appearance last weekend at Starlight Cinema’s Star Wars EpIII Revenge of the Sith movie screening on Friday 1 July 2005. Fortunately the weather held up being cool for the costumed. Check photos at the forum here:
